Preparing for Hibernation

Like my friend Robin said, we are all like squirrels collecting, organizing and getting ready for winter.  This is still going on at Casa Pipke.  (more organizing pics coming)

It started when mom & dad dropped off a big box of fresh BC peaches.  Then Glenn came home from his fishing trip the next day with another box of fresh BC peaches and a box of plums.  After eating quite a few (oh-so-yummy) I contemplated what to do with them.  I consider jam or canning them, but to be honest we aren't jam eaters.  So I decided to freeze them.  Peel, cut & freeze.  Big job, but I'm so glad we have them for the winter.

Next on the list was Salsa.  I dug out my Anne of Green Gables Audio Book and got to work peeling, cutting and canning.

Stocked so far:

6 Bags of Peaches
12 Jars of Salsa
4 Bags of Plums

Any ideas on what to do with the plums?  They are currently in the freezer, but I'm considering Plum Butter or something similar??
